Salary Calculator

Convert gross pay between hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly and annual amounts. Enter the amount, pick its pay period and set your hours per week and weeks per year. The calculator shows all seven amounts at once, which helps when you compare a job offer quoted by the hour with one quoted by the year.

The salary conversion

Annual = Hourly × hours per week × weeks per year

The calculator turns your amount into an hourly rate and works out every period from that rate. A day is a fifth of your weekly hours, so 40 hours a week makes an 8-hour day. Biweekly is two weeks. Semi-monthly is the annual amount divided by 24, and monthly is the annual amount divided by 12. With the defaults of 40 hours and 52 weeks, a year has 2,080 paid hours. Each amount is rounded to the cent.

Worked example

A $32/hour wage at 40 hours/week × 52 weeks = $66,560 annual gross. Weekly = $1,280; biweekly = $2,560; semi-monthly = $2,773.33; monthly = $5,546.67. A $90,000 annual salary works out to $43.27 per hour at 40 hours per week.

Frequently asked questions

Is this salary calculator gross or net?

Gross. It converts pay before taxes and deductions. To estimate take-home pay, use the take-home paycheck calculator.

How many work hours are in a year?

2,080 at 40 hours a week for 52 weeks, which is what the calculator uses unless you change the boxes. If some weeks of the year are unpaid, lower the weeks per year. At 50 weeks of 40 hours, a year has 2,000 hours, and a $90,000 salary works out to $45 an hour.

What is the difference between semi-monthly and biweekly pay?

Semi-monthly pay comes twice a month, so 24 paychecks a year. Biweekly pay comes every two weeks, so 26. The IRS withholding tables in Publication 15-T (2026 edition, opened November 3, 2026) use those same counts. On $66,560 a year, a semi-monthly paycheck is $2,773.33 and a biweekly one is $2,560.00. The year comes to the same gross pay. The biweekly check is smaller, and some months bring three of them.

How do I find a semi-monthly salary from a yearly one?

Divide the annual salary by 24, or pick Annually and read the Semi-monthly figure. A $90,000 salary is $3,750.00 twice a month. This is gross pay, before taxes and deductions. If you know a semi-monthly paycheck, pick Semi-monthly as the period and the calculator converts it to the others.

How do I compare salary across part-time and full-time?

Convert both to an hourly rate, or scale the part-time salary to a full-time equivalent (FTE) by dividing by the fraction of full-time hours worked.
